The Malaysian government says a French satellite has picked up signs of debris - which may be linked to missing flight MH-370.
French officials say they have spotted what could be wreckage in the southern search corridor.
The news comes just a day after a Chinese satellite image found a large object in the Indian Ocean.
Earlier, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott raised hopes that the mystery of missing Malaysia Airlines plane can be solved.
China and Japan are among the countries piling extra resources into the growing international search effort.
