Ethiopian-born, Limerick-raised Ruth Negga has grabbed everyone's attention with her latest film role in 'Loving'.
But she first became a household name here back in 2010 after her stint on the crime drama 'Love/Hate'.
Negga played Rosie - a girl who was pregnant and torn between two men.
She ultimately chose the character of Darren, played by Robert Sheehan.
But things didn't always go smoothly for the pair, and Darren's demise was becoming more apparent as the series went on.
Here, Negga and Sheehan's characters discuss how their relationship could work.
She is also known for her part in Neil Jordan's 'Breakfast on Pluto' and appeared on the TV show 'Misfits'.
In 2011, she starred in 'Shirley' - a TV biography based on the life of Welsh singer Shirley Bassey.
She won the IFTA for for Best Actress Television at the 9th annual awards in February 2102.
From there, Negga headed for the US - with a part in the 2013 film 'World War Z'.
She also had a recurring role on ABC's 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' between 2013 and 2015.
Then last year, Negga took a starring role in the supernatural darkly comic series 'Preacher'.
Her latest title role in 'Loving' set critics abuzz across the water - and closer to home.
She plays Mildred Loving - one half of an interracial couple in 1950s Virginia.
The film tells the true story of the pair and the obstacles and bias they faced.
Their relationship lead to the US Supreme Court decision Loving v Virginia - which struck down laws there prohibiting interracial marriages.
While in a recent interview on RTÉ's 'Late, Late Show', Negga said racism was never an issue for her here at home.
She also appeared as the cover star on January's US edition of 'Vogue' magazine, where she discussed her 'Loving' role.

Negga lost out on the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama award at this year's Golden Globes, though she did get a shout-out from Meryl Streep during her acceptance speech of the Cecil B Demille Award.

But with Academy Award season just around the corner (nominations are out January 24th) and a BAFTA nomination for 'Rising Star', Ruth Negga is definitely one to watch.
