Funding to build cycling and walking tracks in Dublin city has been cut by €16 million.
More than 35 kilometres of bike lanes have been delivered by the City Council in recent years using money from the National Transport Authority.
The NTA provided €59 million in funding in 2023.
However, the council's Andy Walsh said that's dropped to below €40 million this year.
“The outturn expenditure last year was €55 million or so,” he said.
“So there's quite good funding for the first couple of years, unfortunately, beginning to dip, and it did in the announcements at the end of last year and earlier this year.”
