A man who raised millions for health services in Britain has been honoured by Queen Elizabeth II.
Captain Tom Moore has been knighted during a private ceremony at Windsor Castle in England.
The 100-year-old Second World War veteran raised over €30m for the UK's NHS as it battled to cope with the coronavirus crisis.
Donations came flooding in after he set out on his challenge to walk 100 lengths of his garden before his birthday earlier this year.
His achievement led to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson nominating him for the award.
Captain Moore's family also attended the ceremony on Friday.
Queen Elizabeth II spent several minutes chatting to Captain Moore and his family, and personally thanked him.
She was also overheard telling him that "100 is a great age".
Ahead of the event, Captain Moore tweeted that he was "raring to go", for what he said would be a "very special day" for him.
Under British rules, he can now be called Sir Tom Moore.
