The discovery of further barter accounts at RTÉ is an "existential threat" to the national broadcaster.
That's according to Labour's Media Spokesperson Marie Sherlock, who was speaking as a review of RTÉ finances is understood to have found a number of further barter accounts.
This type of account is at the centre of controversy over secret payments to presenter Ryan Tubridy.
The RTÉ Board met earlier on Tuesday evening.
It comes as Cabinet agreed the terms of reference for an external review of the organisation.
Senator Sherlock said it is time for the State broadcaster to lay all its cards on the table.
"There can be no more drip feed of information from RTÉ," she said.
"I would implore the senior management team to get all their ducks in a row before returning to the Oireachtas this week.
"There is now an existential threat to our national broadcaster, and we cannot allow it to implode on itself.
"News breaking this evening that at least one more barter account is in use in the organisation is shocking for the public and gut-wrenching for workers at RTÉ, who have fought with management for additional crews and resources.
"In order to safeguard its future, we need RTÉ to put absolutely everything on the table tomorrow," she added.
A number of RTÉ executives are due to appear before the Oireachtas Media Committee on Wednesday.
Media Minister Catherine Martin will meet the incoming Director-General of RTÉ Kevin Bakhurst on Friday.
A spokesman for Minister Martin has said she was aware the board of RTÉ met on Tuesday evening.
"[She] notes comments on behalf of the board. She is awaiting an update from the Chair," he said.
"If there are any further developments of concern, they will be included in the forthcoming external examination initiated by the Minister today," the spokesman added.
