Workers at Healys Blue Bin were told on Wednesday that they had lost their jobs, with the company facing losses of around 2 million euro.
Staff at the firm in Blackrock, immediately staged a sit-in and met with management at 8 o'clock this morning.
They were told another firm, Country Clean, is interested in taking over the business, but it's understood that up to 17 people could face job losses as a result of the move.
