Brazilian photographer Marcos Alberti has gotten a lot of attention online recently after his photography project offered a unique insight into how a few glasses of wine has an effect on people.
While it's not unknown for people's behaviour to change after a few glasses, Alberti's project captures how they look after one, two and three glasses of wine.
Alberti stated that the '3 Glasses project', as he's dubbed it, started as a joke amongst friends that turned into a fully-fledged idea which expanded. When they entered the studio, he captured how they looked after a day's work and how that was etched on their face, and then again as they made their way through a few glasses with friends.
Speaking to The Telegraph, he said "there is a saying about wine that I really like and it's something like this, ‘The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem’. I really wanted to see for myself if that affirmation was in fact true".
The resulting series of portraits, which can be seen below, captures that somewhat, as people change from their composed selves in the first picture, to a somewhat more boisterous person by the time they've had their third drink.
Alberti added that he wanted to show what happens "between friends who are drinking responsibly in a good environment. It's like portraits during happy hour".
