While for most of us jigsaws are just an annual pastime made up during the Stephen’s Day lull of having run out of things to say to our family, for one Redditor they are a labour of love.
Manne0708, as she goes by, has just submitted the photos of the Herculean labour it took to complete one of the world’s biggest jigsaws. Over the course of two and a half months, clocking in at 450 active hours, she pieced together all 33,600 parts of the 170cm x 560cm behemoth.
The jigsaw is so large it comes in a box with wheels, with the puzzle divided into 10 sections (the pieces split into 10 sectional bags). Rather than complete them section by section, Manne0708 says she mixed them all together first. Presumably she did star with the edge pieces...
The name of the puzzle is Wildlife and it is made by a company called Educa. The current world record for completing it is 19 hours and seven minutes – by a group of 100 people.
