Kit Harrington is bringing his Jon Snow character back to life in a new Games of Thrones spin-off, according to US reports.

The sequel to the blockbuster HBO series will follow the fan-favourite character as he journeys out of Westeros, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It said the network has entered into early development on the new series, with Harrington attached to reprise the role.

The British actor was twice nominated for an Emmy for his smouldering portrayal of Snow – who begins the series as the bastard son of Ned Stark.

In the final season, he discovers his true heritage before being exiled from Westeros to journey north of the Wall.
