Fans of the HBO show will be brought around a number of different sites that have been used throughout the show’s three seasons thus far. With an extended visit to the Giant’s Causeway a highlight, the guided tour will also encompass stopovers in Ballycastle, Armoy (aka The Dark Hedges), Ballintroy (aka Lordsport Harbour / The Iron Islands) and other locations, including the caves that were the setting for one of season two’s most infamous sequences.

The day tour will last nine hours, and will have a guide who will be ‘up-to-date’ with news and ‘insider information’ about the TV show. A place on the tour will cost around €86.

Northern Ireland has been welcoming Game of Thrones tourists for a few years now, but this is the first major commercial tour being offered. Despite its high production budgets, it has proven a massive hit for HBO, with the new series having reached a peak audience of 5.5 million American viewers for the 6th episode of the latest series. Broadcast on Sky Atlantic in Ireland, it has also consistently been television’s most pirated programme.
