Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an assault at the Electric Picnic Festival in Stradbally, Co Laois.

It happened on Friday September 2nd sometime between 10pm and 12am midnight in the Today FM Sound Garden.

It is alleged to have happened during the last song of a set by DJ Jamie Maguire.

A man aged in his 30s was taken to Tullamore Hospital, and was later transferred to St James's Hospital in Dublin.

He was treated for non-life threatening but serious injuries.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

They are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with footage of this incident, to make it available to them.
