Gardai are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at a post office in south Dublin. A substantial sum of cash was stolen during the raid in Donnybrook.
At around 9:15am yesterday morning a gunman wearing a white motorbike helmet burst into Woodbine Post Office and demanded cash.
He also threatened a number of customers who were in the office at the time.
The workers handed over what gardai have described as a 'substantial sum of cash' before the raider made his escape.
He left on a silver moped and was seen travelling along the N11 towards University College Dublin (UCD).
The suspect is described as 5-foot-6 in height, of slim build and he was wearing black waterproofs and gloves. Gardai say the staff were left traumatised but say nobody was injured during the robbery.
They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
