Gardai are looking for help from taxi drivers after a 19-year-old woman was seriously assaulted in Dublin last weekend. The incident happened at a premises off Thomas Street early on Saturday morning but details are only emerging now.

Gardai have issued this appeal for help as part of their investigations into the assault.

They are looking for a taxi driver picked up a couple near the Olympia Theatre on Dame Street between 2:15am and 2:50am on Saturday morning and brought them to the Thomas Street area.

They are also looking for a driver who picked up a woman at around 3.20am that morning at the junction of Thomas Street and Bridgefoot Street and brought her to Dame Street, as well as any taxi who picked up a man in the same area at the same time.

Gardai have arrested a man in relation to this assault and are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
