Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a collision in County Donegal this morning.

It happened at McClays Corner on the Letterkenny side of Stranolar shortly before 3am, when a pedestrian - in his late 60s - was struck by a car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Lettekenny General Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Ballybofey Garda station.
