A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in north Dublin.
David Sheridan (45) died at the Mater Hospital yesterday after being stabbed several times on Sunday night on the North Strand Road.
This incident started at a chip shop when two men got into a fight.
When Mr Sheridan left the fast foot outlet, he was stabbed several times on the street next to the Five Lamps.
He was rushed to the Mater Hospital but lost his fight for life yesterday morning.
This morning a suspect (63) was picked up in Dublin and taken to Mountjoy garda station for questioning.
He can be held for up to 24 hours.
