Gardai are today expected to interview the father of the two young Co. Carlow brothers found dead in a crashed car in Co. Mayo. The bodies of Ruairi and Eoghan Chada were discovered yesterday afternoon near Westport.
Post mortem examinations on the boys bodies are underway at Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar to determine how they died.
The scene where the grim discovery was made yesterday in Rosbeg near Westport remains sealed off as a team from the Garda Technical Bureau and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the car.
Post mortem examinations on the bodies of both children are continuing and the car has been removed from the scene.
Investigating Gardai have thanked members of the public who have contacted the incident room at Westport Garda Station following yesterday’s appeals.

They continue to appeal for information on a dark green Ford Focus registration number 06-CW-238 between 6.30pm on Sunday evening 28th July and 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Kalid Jabbar is conducting post mortems at Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar on the bodies of 5-year-old Ruairi and 10-year-old Eoghan Chada who were found in the boot of the car.
Gardai believe the boys died prior to the car accident and say the results will determine the course of their investigation.
Their father - 43-year-old Sanjeev Chada - who suffered non life-threatening injuries in yesterday's collision is still receiving medical treatment in Mayo General Hospital.
Gardai say they hope to interview him later today.
The Principal at Ballinkillen National School - where Eoghan and Ruairi were pupils - Michelle Doorley says the whole school community is devastated by the news.
Parish Priest in Bagnaelstown Fr. Declan Foley knows the Chada family well. He told Newstalk's Louise Kelly that their grief is "immeasurable".
