A Garda was hospitalised after being hit by a car in Castleknock, Dublin 15, last night. 

It happened when the Garda was responding to an incident at an apartment complex in Castleknock at roughly 1am last night, May 20th. 

The officer was struck by a car and brought to hospital for injuries. 

He has since been discharged and remains off-duty at this time. 

Gardaí said no arrests have been made yet, but they are following “definite lines of enquiry”. 

“Garda welfare services have been put in place for the Garda member and his colleagues,” they said.
