Patrick Redmond died after a single stab wound to the back.

He was found in his apartment at Mount Kenneth Place at around 2 o'clock on Sunday morning.

The father of three was brought to University Hospital Limerick, where he was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí are now appealing for anyone with information to contact Henry Street garda station.
