Gardaí investigating the theft of manhole covers in the locality of Ennis in Co. Clare have arrested a 17 and a 19 year old man this afternoon.

In total 15 manhole covers were recovered following the search of a vehicle at Monreagh Tubber.

The Gardai and the RSA have recently highlighted that the removal of manhole covers is potentially lethal to road users.

The two men are being detained at Ennis Garda Station.
