An investigation is underway after a man was hit by a car in County Wicklow earlier this week.
The pedestrian, a man in his early 60s, is said to be in critical condition in hospital.
This incident occurred in a SuperValu car park in Arklow on Thursday.
Shortly after 1pm, emergency services were alerted after a male pedestrian was struck by a car.
The man was taken to St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin for treatment.
The car park was closed for a short time but later reopened, while the shop opened the following day.
The driver of the car was uninjured and Gardaí say enquiries are ongoing.
