An investigation is underway after a man reportedly shot himself in the head in Dublin last night following a garda pursuit.
Gardaí were on the scene after they had been alerted to allegations that a woman had been held against her will on the south side of the city.
A vehicle was identified as part of the investigation and it later crashed on the city side of the Spawell roundabout, where a man aged in his early 30s got out and was subsequently hurt.
It is understood he then got out of the car and shot himself. It was travelling in the direction of the Tallaght bypass.
The man was taken to Tallaght Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing - and Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has been contacted in relation to the incident.
