Gardai say a 40-year-old woman is to appear in court charged in relation to the murder of a man in Drogheda yesterday.
Wayne McQuillan (30) was stabbed to death outside his home in Drogheda in the early hours of New Year's Day. He was found with stab wounds in the front garden of his house at Marian Park, at 1.45am on Wednesday morning.
Mr. McQuillan was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was later pronounced dead.
A post mortem was carried out on his body yesterday and having considered the results, gardaí have now upgraded the investigation to murder.
A woman (40) was arrested yesterday at Rathmullen Park in Drogheda, in connection with the killing. It is understood she knew Mr McQuillan. She is being detained at Drogheda garda station.
