Gardaí have seized 14 vehicles, during an operation in the midlands.

They were recovered as part of an operation targeting the theft of vehicles in the Granard and Longford districts. Under that operation, searches were launched yesterday afternoon.

This multi-agency operation involved gardaí and officers from Revenue and the Department of Social Protection.

12 Ford transit vans, one Ford camper van and one caravan - all suspected to be stolen - were seized, along with a large cache of documents taken for evidence. 

Nobody has been arrested.

Investigations are ongoing.
