Gardaí are appealing for information on anyone involved in organising the violent unrest in Coolock earlier this week.
Investigators say they have already received a ‘significant’ amount of support from the public – including images and videos of those involved in the violence.
Officers are now in the process of “collating and harvesting” images from CCTV, social media and the public.
They are now appealing to witnesses and anyone with any information to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who has camera footage from the day – and those with information on the organisers.
Public support
A spokesperson said they wanted to thank the public for the “significant volume of support” they have received so far – “including calls to Coolock Garda Station, the Garda Confidential phone number and receipt of images and videos from members of the public”.
“An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to any person with any information on the events on Monday or has any information on persons organising or involved in Monday’s events to contact the Garda investigation team,” they said.
An incident room has now been set up at Coolock Garda Station and a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed.
Division
This morning, Justice Minister Helen McEntee told Newstalk that certain people are moving around different communities in Ireland attempting to “sow division”.
"These are very clearly not people who want to communicate; these are people who don't want to engage - they want to veto anyone coming into their area.
"Nobody has a right to veto where anybody would go - in particular somebody who might be fleeing war, persecution and torture".
‘Sheer thuggery’
She has previously said she expects to see further arrests in the coming days – with Garda bodycam footage likely to play a role.
Meanwhile, the Taoiseach has warned that the “sheer thuggery” seen in Coolock “will not be tolerated in this country”.
