Gardaí in Co. Louth have arrested a man in his 30Â’s in connection with a serious assault last Friday night.

The attack happened in a pub on Castletown Road, in Dundalk between 9 and 10:30pm

A man in his 60Â’s remains in a critical condition in hospital after suffering serious head injuries.

The man arrested this afternoon is being detained at Dundalk Garda station where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
