Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a fatal car crash in Co Tipperary overnight.

A man in his early 20s was killed in the single vehicle accident at Lower Ballylynch in Carrick-on-Suir shortly before 3am this morning.

The man was the only occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
