Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire at a home in Drimnagh. 

It happened at a private house in Drimnagh, Dublin 12 in the early hours of Saturday morning. 

One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but his condition is now described as stable. 

Local councillor Daithí Doolan said the family are homeless following the incident.

He said the incident was frightening for the whole community.

"It shouldn't have happened and those who organised it and carried it out should face the full rigours of the law," he said.

Gardaí in Sundrive Road are appealing to any person who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them. 

They are particularly interested in anyone with camera footage who was near Dromard Road between 3.00am and 3.45am last night.
