Gardaí in Galway investigating the murder of a man in the city last week, are continuing to question 4 people this morning.
Krzysztof Ciesielski - a Polish national - sustained serious head injuries during an incident outside a house on the Cullairbaun Estate in Athenry last week.
The Polish man, 40, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday evening.
A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday by the Deputy State Pathologist Dr Khalid Jabber at the hospital - a murder investigation was subsequently launched.
Two teenage men and a woman in her 30s are being detained at Galway Garda Station over the murder, while a man in his 40s is being questioned at Gort Garda Station.
The 2 teens and the older man are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Galway Garda Station, the older man is being held also under Section 4 at Gort Garda Station, while the woman is being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Galway Garda Station.
