Gardai took part in a special ops operation in Dublin today - rescuing small ducks from the Grand Canal.

The little quackers got stuck around Portobello Harbour on the south side of the city this afternoon.

As on-lookers watched, gardai who were on-scene used a small net to help get them back on track.

It is not clear how they got stuck in the waterway.

Witnesses tell Newstalk that all the ducks are doing well and have been sent on their way.
