Gardai say they are satisfied they have found all the body parts of convicted drug dealer Christopher Gaffney. A search of a woodland area in Co. Meath has been officially stood down and a full post mortem can now take place.
Specialist search teams - including Garda divers - spent three days combing an area known as the Mayne, near Clonee in Co. Meath, after a passersby stumbled upon a severed arm on Friday.
More body parts were found in black plastic bags during the course of that search and the victim was identified as a 37-year-old Christopher Gaffney from Blanchardstown in Dublin.
Gaffney was well-known to the gardai and had spent some time behind bars for drug-dealing offences.
Gaffney was reported missing from on October 1st and gardai believe his remains may have lay undiscovered for a number of weeks.
A final body part was found in a stream last night and the search has now been stood down. A full post mortem will establish exactly how he died and will assist Gardai in their murder investigation.
