Gardai in Galway are appealing for the help of the public in tracing the whereabouts of a missing 80-year-old man. Frank Helly was last seen at Balinahalla Nursing Home in Moycullen at around 7pm last night.

The coastguard and the Garda Air Support unit have been carrying out searches in the area but have not located him.

He is described as 5-foot-10 inches in height, of medium build with short grey hair. When last seen he was wearing beige trousers, a maroon jumper and a blue shirt.
