Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of approximately 120,000 euro's have been seized in Cork.

The discovery was  made as part of an intelligence led operation when gardai from the Cork West Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house and land at Church Cross, in Skibbereen.

A man in his 60’s was arrested at the scene.

He was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The man was released from custody earlier this evening and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
