A man in his 50's is being questioned after gardai seized a large amount of counterfeit currency notes in North county Dublin earlier today.

The discovery was made by members of the Garda Special Detective Unit following the search of a premises.

Searches were also carried out in the Coolock and Artane areas during follow up operations-in which printing and computer equipment were seized.

The man is being detained at Coolock Garda Station.
