Two men in their 20s and 30s are in custody following the seizure of €1.2 million worth of drugs in Kildare yesterday.
The discovery was made following the search of a large rural site in the county and a number of follow-up searches were conducted at addresses in Dublin and Kildare - resulting in further small quantities of drugs being located and seized.
In total, 16 kilograms of suspected cocaine with an estimated street sale value of €1.1 million was recovered.
Gardaí also found 3 kilograms of cannabis herb with an estimated value of €60,000 and 800 grams of suspected heroin with an estimated value of €112,000.
In addition to the drugs, a mobile drug pressing preparation unit was also seized which included a mixing agent, a hydraulic press, ovens and vacuum packing equipment.
The operation came about as a result of an ongoing investigation into an organised criminal group who have significant links to the large scale sale and supply of controlled drugs across the West Dublin area.
Gardaí described it as a very significant development in their efforts to dismantle criminal gangs causing harm in communities across the Dublin area.
