Gardai are appealing for information from the public in relation to the theft of thousands of cases of spirits from a warehouse in Ballyfermot in Dublin.

Two men armed with iron bars entered a warehouse in the Parkwest industrial Estate on Friday the 14th of November between three and four p.m. At least three more men arrived and the employees were tied up and the group made away with over €400,000 worth of spirits.

The raiders used two 40 foot trucks to steal vast quantities of Jameson whiskey, Bombay Sapphire Gin and Jack Daniels Bourbon.

Gardaí believe that this stolen alcohol will be offered for sale, and likely already has been offered to the public, in the run up to Christmas.

Gardai are asking the public to contact them if they have been offered these spirits from persons other than licensed suppliers of alcohol.

They are also appealing to anyone who saw the trucks - one red with a white container and the other white with a blue container - to contact them.

Gardai have released details about what was stolen, including the three batch numbers of the stolen Jameson whiskey

There were 2.580 bottles of whiskey stolen, in 6x700ml cases. Each of the stolen casxes has one of the three batch numbers:
L428112153, L428312172, L428016141.

Each bottle will have a corresponding batch number on the rear of the label.

There were no batch numbers available for the other stolen spirits – Bombay Sapphire Gin (700ml) and Jack Daniels Whiskey (700ml).
