Gardaí are warning people not to click into a link claiming to be from An Post about an unsolicited parcel delivery.
They say they've received numerous reports of the text message and email scam.
It sees people receive messages relating to a parcel awaiting delivery, and asks them to click on the link for further details.
Gardaí say you shouldn't respond to these texts - and instead take a screenshot, delete the message, and report it to your local Garda station.
In a statement, the force said: "While this particular scam involves An Post, gardaí would like to advise the public to be vigilant against any such email or text involving any organisation.
"An Garda Síochána are advising the public to never click on an unsolicited text or email, never give away personal data like your PIN, card numbers or passwords, and to not respond to such emails or texts."
It comes amid a major surge in the amount of online shopping and parcel deliveries ahead of Christmas.
