A Take That superfan looks set to meet his idol Gary Barlow after his sister’s social media campaign caught the eyes of the British singer.
Conor Kenny, 18, has been a fan of the boy band for his entire life and celebrated his 18th birthday with a Gary Barlow cake. His sister Fauve began sharing posts on Twitter and Facebook after hearing the three remaining Take That members will be on this Friday’s Late Late Show on RTÉ One.
Ms Kenny, of Finglas, posted the following message on Facebook:
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
After being shared on Irish social media and directed towards Take That’s Twitter profiles, the campaign caught the eye of Howard Donald, who sent it in the direction of Gary Barlow:
“@v1kster: @GaryBarlow someone REALLY wants to meet you...Extend your Christmas spirit and make his dream come true! pic.twitter.com/Tvxhfq2c7M”

“@BirdyOD: Come on guys @GaryBarlow @OfficialMarkO @HowardDonald @takethat make it happen http://t.co/ZmKG9htm0N” *on it x*

RTÉ has remained tight-lipped on the issue, replying to Fauve Kenny’s tweets with the following message:
@fauvekenny1 RTÉ do not have the authority to agree to meet & greet with guests. Please apply for tickets online http://t.co/7IvLVExOFA

The campaign is now reaching out to presenter Ryan Tubridy to try and get his support.
Conor Kenny, who has Down’s Syndrome, is completely unaware that he might be meeting his idol on Friday evening. Speaking to the Herald, his mother Angie said the family is keeping it as a surprise, but that they all have their fingers crossed.
