Every Friday sees the new album and single releases hit online and the stores, and here's our picks of the five songs you should be listening to this weekend.
Gavin James - "The Book Of Love" (Live in Whelans)
The Dublin born singer-songerwriter released his debut album Bitter Pill in November of last year, and has since gone platinum here, and he has since appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, James Corden's Late Late Show, and got backed by none other than Ed Sheeran. Now, to celebrate the worldwide release of the album, he's released the deluxe version, including live-versions of all of the tracks, including this beautiful rendition of his hit track.
The 1975 - "Somebody Else"
After the critical acclaim of their alt-rock, self-titled debut back in 2013, everyone was curious to see if The 1975 would be a flash-in-the-pan, or would they be able to follow it up. Having just dropped I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, they've taken a few left turns, verging closer to alt-pop territory, such as on this shimmery electro-ballad.
SBTRKT - "Hold The Line"
While we await the follow up to 2014's Wonder Where We Land, the indie-electro act has released an entire EP of instrumental tracks, including the blippy, glitchy track below, which is designed to bridge the gap between their previous album and the upcoming project.
Gwen Stefani - "Misery"
Not a cover of the Maroon 5 track, this is another boppy-pop song from the former Mrs. Rossdale, which continues in the vein of previous singles "Used To Love You" and "Make Me Love You", creating an atmosphere of summer-y, catchy earworms. This one was written and produced by Mattman & Robin, the same guys behind the recent hits by Carly Rae Jepsen, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.
Ariana Grande - "Dangerous Woman"
After "Focus" didn't quite top the charts the way she would've liked, Grande has, eh, re-focused, taking on a more sultry vibe, telling us she's all growed up, putting the 'Woman' in "Dangerous Woman". It's also the title track from her sophomore album, due out this May.
