Crowds of people have turned out in Limerick for a vigil in memory of Geila Ibram.
Tuesday marks one week since the 27-year-old mother of four, originally from Romania, was found dead at an apartment on the Dock Road in the city.
A 26-year-old man has been charged with Ms Ibram's murder after being arrested in Belfast.
Speaking to Live 95, these people explained why they were there.
"Something like this impacts that entire community and it kind of instills fear," one woman said.
"It's just that ripple of fear that's gone through the community is kind of very palpable.
"It's really, really tragic - a mother of four kids is gone - what's going to happen to keep women like her safe in the future?"
Another woman said more needs to be done to protect women.
"I think it's important because it's happening too often," she said.
"We were all demanding better protection for women a year ago, and it's still not adequate.
"There's still so many cases of women not feeling safe... people need to show that this is still an issue".
Another woman said she wanted to show her "solidarity and my horror at what happend."
"It makes me feel terrible for women and the way that they're treated.
"Different women in different times - we're here again and we were here last year [to remember Aishling Murphy].
"It's not different, it's aggression against women in different situations, but it's still aggression against women," she added.
Soc Dems Councillor for Limerick City West, Elisa O'Donovan, said she was "heartened to see so many come out to show their support to Geila's family, children and friends."
