Aontú is aiming to take 10 seats in the upcoming election.
The party’s candidates were officially launched today, with one running in each of the 43 constituencies.
Aontú currently has one sitting TD - its founder and leader, Peadar Tóibín.
He has said he’s looking forward to being joined by party colleagues in the Dáil.
“We are targeting at the moment 10 constituencies across the country for seats,” he said.
“In those constituencies, it's very clear that the last seat is between an Aontú candidate and a Government TD.
“We're saying to people if they want change in those ten constituencies, they have to concentrate and crystallize their vote on the best challenger to the government.”
People Before Profit
Meanwhile, People Before Profit have called for price caps on essential goods and energy.
If voted into government, the party has said they will abolish the USC for those earning less than €100,000 and take immediate measures to slash high rents.
They say they want to give working people a break.
Labour
Labour has pledged to protect Irish neutrality if elected to government.
The party has described the next five years as “crucial” for Ireland’s Defence Forces.
Labour is also promising to implement the Working Time Directive, provide for overtime payments and develop new housing for serving members.
