Sinn Féin has said it would create a Minister for Reunification, if elected to Government.
The party said, if elected to Goverment, it would ramp up the planning process for a United Ireland.
Mary Lou McDonald launched the party's immigration proposals earlier today, which would create a new state agency to deal with the issue.
She said they would take more direct action on planning for a border poll too.
"What we are proposing, firstly is to have a Minister for Reunification posted to the Department of an Taoiseach," she said.
"We would propose to produce a green paper within 100 days of government.
"And then, of course, we want to convene a citizens assembly - you've heard us talk about that a lot."
The Sinn Féin party leader also said she believes younger party members shouldn't have to account for atrocities committed by the IRA.
She said she accepts there are many families who did not receive justice for the events of the 70s and 80s, but she believes members of the modern party can't be held accountable for those issues.
"I don't think it is a reasonable proposition to ask an individual who either wasn't born or who was a baby in the 70s or 80s to account for actions from the 70s or 80s," Deputy McDonald said.
"I also don't think it's an ask that is made of people from Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, the Labour Party or anywhere else."
