With counting set to resume across the country this morning, we are looking at where the count is sitting thus far.
You can keep up to date with all the General Election results throughout the weekend through Newstalk’s live blog and video stream.
A number of polling centres kept counts going into the early hours of this morning.
Approximately one quarter of the 174 seats in the 34th Dáil have been filled, with the outcome for the three big parties still all to play for.
Newstalk’s political correspondent Seán Defoe has said that by the end of today “we should have a very clear picture of what the next Dáil will look like”.
“Plenty of seats still to be filled, plenty of intrigue still hanging around - and plenty of coffees needed this morning by candidates, party staff and journalists alike,” he said.
The list of the 41 candidates already elected includes:
- Jennifer Carroll MacNeill (FG) - Dún Laoghaire
- Patrick O'Donovan (FG) – Limerick County

Currently, Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are on 11 seats each, with Sinn Féin coming in at eight seats.
Social Democrats have one seat, People Before Profit-Solidarity have one seat, Aontú have one seat, Independent Ireland have three seats and Independents have five seats.
Six constituencies have completed their counts.
These constituencies are Cork South-West, Dún Laoghaire, Meath West, Offaly, Limerick County and Cork North-West.
Thus far, it seems Micheál Martin was right in his scepticism of polls, as it is looking as though the exit poll understated Fianna Fáil’s support and overstated Sinn Féin’s.
However, at this stage, it is still far too early to call what the final tally will be between the three largest parties.
Newstalk reporters will be at count centres around Ireland bringing you all the results as they come in.
We will also be running election specials throughout the day, and you can follow all the action on our live blog and on our social channels.
With reporting by Seán Defoe.
