Gerry Adams spent his fourth night in police custody last night– as detectives continue to question him about the IRA murder of Jean McConville.

Police questioning the Sinn Fein leader have until 8 o'clock tonight to charge or release him.

Officers were granted an extra 48 hours on Friday to question Mr Adams who denies any involvement.

The North's Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness claims the arrest is 'politically motivated'.

But, Northern Ireland's First Minister Peter Robinson and Justice Minister David Ford deny that's the case.
