A giant ice cream cone has been returned safe and sound to its owners in Donegal. 

The large replica 99 vanished from outside  Circle K Glencar garage in Letterkenny on Sunday morning. 

Gardaí issued an appeal and revealed they had CCTV footage of the cone being stolen. 

The garage’s owners have since revealed the cone is “home safe after its adventure”. 

They also thanked those who had helped track down the item.
