A 13 year old girl has won the right to have her birth certificate amended.
Her Romanian mother Maria Caldaras is incorrectly named on the document.
The error arose because the girl’s mother is illiterate and didn’t realise she’d been given the wrong birth certificate when she left her home country to come to Ireland.
Speaking outside the High Court in Dublin, the family’s solicitor Elizabeth Mitrow says it’s been a long and drawn out process:

} ], { swfPath: '/assets/includes/js/jPlayer', supplied: 'mp3', wmode: 'window', solution: 'flash, html' });
