A man accused of holding a teenage girl captive for more than 2 years in the USA has been arrested after she managed to escape and alert police.

Police raided the house in Illinois.

The mother of the man was also held.

The 15-year-old says she was repeatedly beaten and raped and gave birth to a baby boy by her captor.

She said she left the baby in the house when she had her chance to get out earlier this week.

Neighbours say they had no idea what was happening.

After telling her story to police a 20-member team of SWAT officers raided the home and arrested a 24-year-old man and his mother.

The true identity of the alleged victim has not been released.
