A six-year-old girl has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a car crash in Westmeath last week.
She died in Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street yesterday.
The collision occurred shortly before 4pm on February 8th on the M6 eastbound between Tyrellspass and Rochfortbridge in Co Westmeath.
The six-year-old was a passenger in the car and suffered serious injuries.
The two other occupants of the car, a man in his 40s and a nine-year-old boy, were not seriously injured.
Gardaí in Mullingar are renewing their appeal for witnesses.
They are particularly interested in anyone who was driving through the area at the time and has dash-cam footage.
