Hidden Hearing is on a mission to raise Christmas spirits and give free sets of hearing aids to those in need.
2020 will long be remembered as the year of COVID-19, the year of lockdowns and social distancing. But through it all, communities, families and even strangers grew closer in our new normals. From applauding frontline workers, appreciating fleeting moments together at a distance or through a screen to nods of acknowledgement in the queue for the supermarket or on our daily walks, this year is the year we supported one another and continue to do so.
Hidden Hearing, Ireland’s leading provider of hearing healthcare, wants to recognise the generosity and goodwill of people who have supported others during these difficult times with the gift of free hearing for those in need or to anyone that suffers from hearing loss.
Hidden Hearing has been operating in Ireland and Northern Ireland for over thirty years, providing free hearing
tests to more than 60,000 people every year.
Recent research by Hidden Hearing in Ireland has shown that people are failing to acknowledge and treat hearing loss. The research shows that 35% of people with hearing loss don't get treatment at all, 22% wait five years or more before seeking help and only 25% actually use hearing aids when they are recommended.
Speaking of the campaign, Hidden Hearing Audiologist Dolores Madden commented:
“This year has been especially hard on everyone, with many people feeling the effects of the second lockdown we have decided to give the gift hearing this Christmas. In the past, our team of Audiologists have nominated clients who need free hearing aids and this year we think it is hugely important that we open this opportunity up to everyone.”
Give the gift of free hearing
Over the next few weeks in the run up to Christmas, the hearing specialists are on a mission to raise Christmas spirits and give free sets of hearing aids to people who need them – whether it's to prepare for festive zoom calls or socially distanced catch ups over the festive period where possible.
If you think you know someone who deserves a free set of state-of-the-art hearing aids, check out www.hiddenhearing.ie/giftofhearing for more details.
