A page set up to raise funds for Alejandro Mizsan, the nine-year-old boy attacked by a dog in Co Wexford, has raised over €100,000 in 48 hours.
He was left with life-changing facial injuries after he was attacked on Sunday.
The dog involved was put down and Gardaí investigating the incident have since arrested a man in his 20s.
His older brother, Raul, told Newstalk Breakfast his face is "completely destroyed".
"He has no lips and his face is in bits," he said. "I don’t know how to describe it.
"His face is not like he used to be anymore; his face is completely changed. He is not the same anymore.
"We can’t really recognise him the way he looks now at the moment. He is in terribly bad condition."
The GoFundMe page was set up by Caroline Brien, a neighbour who has children the same age as Alejandro.
She said: "My heart is truly broken for his family what trauma and agonising pain that this vicious attack on an innocent little boy [who was] just playing with his friends.
"[It's] a long road ahead for this little boy and his family - it's only right to help," she added.
