Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States of America.
Hundreds of guests gathered in the Capitol building's Rotunda to witness the inauguration of President Trump and hear his inaugural presidential address.
"The golden age of America begins right now," President Trump said, beginning his address.
"From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected.
"I will very simply put America first.
"Our top priority will be to create a nation that is proud, prosperous and free."
"Drill baby drill"
Trump addressed his recent assissination attempt saying his life was saved "for a reason" - to "make America great again".
The newly inaugurated president detailed some of the executive actions he plans to take - starting with declaring a national emergency on the Southern border.
He has designated "the cartels as foreign terrorist organisations".
Promising a complete overhaul of US energy policies, Trump said, "America will be a manufacturing nation once again".
He said America sits on "the most oil and natural gas of any nation on earth, and we're going to use it".

Gulf of America
It is now the "official policy" of the Unites States that there are only two genders - male and female.
America is "taking" back the Panama Canal from China, Trump said, also announcing that the Gulf of Mexico will be renamed the Gulf of America.
America will also put their flag on Mars, according to the new president.
"We will be prosperous, we will be proud, we will be strong and we will win like never before," Trump said.
He finishes with the statement: "Our golden age has just begun".
Unique relationship
Taoiseach Simon Harris has congratulated Donald Trump on his inauguration, saying he wishes him every success in his term in office.
Mr Harris said the government very much looks forward to cooperating with President Trump and his administration in the months and years ahead.
Tánaiste Micheál Martin said his new government will continue to work closely with Trump's administration.
"We will work, obviously, with the European Union as members in relation to those economic issues," he said.
"But also in terms of the bilateral relationship Ireland has a very, very unique and long historic relationship with the United States, which is of some significance to us economically, but also in terms of family and in terms of kinship and that's something we will continue to nurture."
Trump's inauguration speech lasted approximately 30 minutes.
